Look, I don't want to get into it with the people here today, as I think a lot of the criticism is well-earned. But can we stick to facts?

fWAR by year:

2020: 0.3
2021: 6.3
2022: 3.3
2023: 1.3
2024: 5.5

There are 2 years that scream "generational", and for the previous 2 years, people wanted to trade him.

It seems to me that they come up with a new strategy every year, something that their analytics department comes up with. But these strategies take more than a year to implement, making them a mess.

Pick a lane. Stick to it.

Even that 2022 "down" year was a 132 wRC+, 3rd among AL first basemen. That 2023 was a 118 wRC+, again 3rd among AL 1B. They were also his 23 & 24 yr old seasons fwiw. To provide a point of comparison:
