I like to consider myself as the OG Shatkins hater on the board....and I don't hate this. What this is imo is tacitly admitting that moving on from Teo a few years ago was fucking stupid. 30 yr old Santander is basically a slightly lesser version of 30 yr old Teo. We needed a Teo then, and we still need a Teo now. We need guys who can hit, preferably for power, to help anchor the middle of the lineup. Having 4-5 guys in the middle of the lineup who can bang makes everyone around them better. We have 3 now who can bang, it's a start.
If there are things in life I care less about than left field defence, I've yet to figure out what they are. There are things that matter and things that don't. LF defence doesn't fucking matter.

A 3B with a stick, or a Springer replacement away from being pretty okay.

The big Q there is how comfortable do you feel with Vlad getting maybe 30-40 games at 3b over the season?
But it would definitely give another bat in the lineup and some good protection for Vlad...

Not comfortable at all, and there would be no reason for him to play there. He and Pete could share 1B/DH, anyone else who needs a day off can sit. I'm not running Vlad at 3rd just because I feel the need to keep Springer in the lineup, but he needs a day off from defending. Vlad wasn't a 3B back when he was a 3B.

If they sign Alonso, i'd think we'd see alot of Vlad at 3B and Wagner at DH
If the plan is to DH Pete, then i'd be okay with a flyer on Moncada at 3B, just in case Clement is terrible.

Frankly, Profar to play LF with Santander DH feels more these guys than anything else as i dont know if i completely expect them to abandon the yay run prevention thing.

He's arguably the cleanest fit of Bregman/Alonso with Profar being a clean fit but obvious tier down
