OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Yup, we suck again! Lol. Only thing that can save it now, is if they resign Vlad. They don’t do that, teams still not good enough, don’t have their franchise player signed and will lose for a couple hot dogs along with Bo, trade Scherzer for bag of balls and be a disaster yet again. Too risky to completely go for it or resign young talent.
 
Look, I am disappointed that the Jays didn't land Alonso. I thought he would make the lineup legit. It was wildly reported that the Jays had the best offer out there but Alonso really wanted to remain a Met. Can you blame him? They just signed Soto. His deal has optouts.

But last year, Alonso had a 122 wRC+, which is good. Also last year Wagner in 86 abs put up a 125 wRC+. He is 26 and we need to see what we have in him.

A JDM/ Wagner DH tandem, probably wouldn't be a bad option with the pieces left on the board.
 
Other than bregman i don't think there's a bat worth adding at this point. Give the internal options the chance now, like we should have last year instead of adding mediocre free agent bats.
 
It did seem pretty clear that Alonso wanted to remain a Met the entire time, and obviously accepting a two year deal kinda demonstrates that…..have to think the Jays would have been fine giving him that kind of money for 3 years.

I’d hope they would, anyway.
