The Reds are set to acquire right-hander Trevor Bauer from the Indians, Jeff Passan of ESPN reports. The deal also involves the Padres, who will send outfielder Franmil Reyes and young lefty Logan Allen to the Indians, Dennis Lin of The Athletic relays. The Tribe will also land outfielder Yasiel Puig from the Reds, per Jon Heyman of MLB Network. The Padres will acquire outfield prospect Taylor Trammell, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic tweets.

Solid for Cleveland, couple of big bats and a young SP for a guy who is really good but totally nuts, their pitching remains strong if Kluber can get back soon and pitch well. I love Trammell so don't love this for Cincy, but they do get a pseudo-ace. And awesome pickup for the already stacked Padres.

I'm not a big Bauer fan, but he was elite last year. And you know full well how much teams value strikeouts over groundballs these days.

Tbh I think I like SWR better than anything the Indians got.

But they still might move puig i guess.

Trying to win now, obviously they need what they got more than SWR. But I do agree, Puig is a UFA after this season and I think Allen's upside is good, not great.

Alex Anthopolous (oh how I miss him) made a bunch of deals, trading 6000 pitching prospects for Tulo, David Price, Mark Lowe, and Ben Revere.

It turns out the only useful prospect surrendered was was Matthew Boyd -- a total of 6.6 WAR to the Tigers.

July 28
Anthopoulos made his first move of the week, getting Troy Tulowitzki and reliever LaTroy Hawkins, in exchange for shortstop Jose Reyes, and 3 pitching prospects: Jeff Hoffman, Miguel Castro, and Jesus Tinoco.

July 30
Landed David Price for pitching prospects Daniel Norris, Matt Boyd, and Jairo Labourt.

July 31
Got Mark Lowe from the Seattle Mariners for three pitching prospects: Jake Brentz, Nick Wells, Rob Rasmussen

Acquired Ben Revere for pitching prospects Jimmy Cordero and Alberto Tirado.

Per sources, the three-team deal looks like this:

Reds get Trevor Bauer (from CLE)
Padres get Taylor Trammell (from CIN)
Indians get Yasiel Puig, Scott Moss (from CIN), Franmil Reyes, Logan Allen, Victor Nova (from SD)

for once I think i'm on the shatkins side here, because this is a statement based on Total Surplus Value not on best asset.

Yep.

-Puig is Puig, re sign him or maybe get a comp pick for him.
-You need to squint hard to determine that Kay and Scott Moss aren't the same person. Both are 24 yr old lefties with meh minor league track records who both top out as a back of the rotation lefty.
-Reyes looks a lot like a 2.5-3 WAR starting corner OF under control for a whole bucket of years. 3 true outcomes, but looks pretty good at the two good outcomes.
-Logan Allen is a left handed, middle of the road outcome for SWR in 4 years.
-Nova is the type of throw in you try to get in a deal like this. Raw as ****, but great walk rate for his age, plus speed. Ready for a promotion to full season ball.

Reyes had a big year last year at 2 levels but otherwise has been a moderately above average bat with middling bb and k rates and no defensive value. I get he has big power but he probably settles in as 2war type. Not my kind of prospect. So yeah I take SWR.
