OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Tampa loses. At one point they had retired 14 in a row. Cleveland really had to work for those runs.

Updated:

If the Jays go 3-3 the rest of the way, Tampa would need to go 5-1 and Seattle would need to go 6-2 to finish ahead of Toronto.

Tampa has a tough schedule having to play three at Houston.

Seattle has an easy sched still against last place teams.

I don't see Tampa doing it with there at Houston coming up.

Seattle though, getting 5 wins against tigers and the A's is not hard to imagine.

Jays should really push for a 4-2 finish to the season.

It’s stories like this that offer the best proof of God. I mean, here’s this guy, ends up at the game where 70 gets hit. Maybe he was there for that purpose or maybe he just joined a friend, whatever the case, he’s there. And then has to be perfectly situated to have McGwire hit it right to him. He’s willing to basically give the ball away, but McGwire unknowingly causes him to keep it. That ends up being the greatest snub ever and he’s got $3m to add to his $10 in savings soon after. There’s no way to look at that and be like, oh, nice flukey unfolding of events. Too much design apparent in the universe wanting this guy to get rich out of nowhere.

I never get the idea fans should be nice and give up potential millions to millionaires after buying their ticket. I'd grab that ball and run.

It's one of those awkward cases - I kind of feel it's "right" to give it up, but at the same time, yeah, if it's worth that much, a few signed items and even a 2 minute meeting and a picture with the guy in no way makes up for life changing money.

I think it's different if the ball is more sentimental than any sort of collector's item. Like if you caught Miggy's 500th career HR, that ball isn't necessarily worth a huge sum of money overall, but arguably worth more to the guy. Or especially if it's like someone's first HR or something - yeah, whoever caught Pujols 1st HR might be able to sell that now for a lot more than before, but it's not going to fetch you enough money to retire.

Nah, none of that. The ball belongs to whoever catches it. Who cares if it’s a milestone one? Fans should only keep the free ones? Take it and run. No moral issue whatsoever.

I was gonna say, I can't believe they sanctioned this - actually going through a door into the bar and out the other door? Risk of decapitating someone was high at a few different points of the video.

Also, the timing of it almost made it hard to believe this was one continuous flight. How it got to Suzuki just as he was taking the field...
