OT: True Crime

Here’s the photo of the “pristine magic bullet” that Oliver Stone, Joe Rogan and their ilk like to show, to demonstrate how impossible it is that it’s the one that hit Kennedy & Connelly.

Now here’s the other photo of that same bullet that your pal Montana will show you, because he cares about you knowing the truth…and isn’t trying to dupe you.

and here is some ballistics experts showing how plausible it is for a bullet to come out like this, after going through soft tissue, slowing, deflecting, etc…as it did…

Didn't realize Rogan was all in on this but it's interesting given how hard he's fallen hook line and sinker for other conspiracies.

ill be the first to admit, it’s intoxicating to delve into as all the “conspiracy evidence” sounds extremely convincing…..but like I said earlier, it’s like listening to defence council in a trial, and not hearing anything the prosecution says at all.

Pretty easy to be convinced if that’s one’s primary source material….and Rogan only cares about the first story he’s told, and only keeps digging in that direction whether it’s aliens, ancient archeology, or any other conspiracy theory, he rarely has the real experts on within the field of question to explain to him why what he believes is so off the mark. (and if he does, he hits them with the classic shotgun blast of bogus information & theories that lot believe, expecting the expert to be able to knock down every theory they mention, explain every micro discrepancy etc, on the spot…..which is a classic conspiracy theorist technique.)

to his credit tho, I think he allowed some astrophysicist’s to talk him off his “moon landing was faked” position….so top marks for that.

….and trust me, I know where you’re coming from. 10 years ago I’d have been making all the same arguments you boys have made, nearly to the letter.
I've been immersed in this subject matter for 40 years now. There's not many books, movies, documentaries and other materials that I've not seen. I'm prepared to listen to theories about which groups of people carried it out (CIA, the Mob, Big Oil oligarchs, combinations of same) and even theories stating that Oswald was consciously involved in the plot. But Oswald acting alone, a lone nut who got off 3 shots in under 6 seconds at a moving target nearly 90 yards away with a shit Italian bolt action rifle that was so inaccurate the Italian soldiers used to chuck them in the trash? That I'm not buying. Is it possible? Sure. Is it likely or plausible? Well, just like the 18 material witnesses to the assassination who were dead within 3 years of the event, the odds are stacked heavily against it.

I think that was NDT and it was only a temporarily held position I think, he's back on his moon landing craziness from what I understand

We went through this once before, and unless he's changed his opinion recently, it's nonsense. He briefly was in on the moon landing may have been fake train in the late 90s, but figured this one out a long time ago.

which explains in part why you’re so dug into your position….no one could read such a large ratio of conspiracy tales Vs the prosecutions case, and not come away with their story embedded in your mind as the real story.

So you’re cut off the facts that refute what you believe…..like Trumpers.

This is honestly one of the easiest to prove, most replicated aspects of the entire event. He was a marine with marksman designation (nothing that special, but non the less wasn’t some random Joe)….and had already carried out one assassination attempt using that carcano.

So many people that hunt are blown away by (a) how small Dealey plaze is, and (b) how much easier those shots would be to make than they realized before.

must been replicated a fuck load of times since, by folks with a fraction of the training Oswald had, or experience with the Carcano he possessed.

like the 18 material witnesses to the assassination who were dead within 3 years of the event, the odds are stacked heavily against it.

jesus you really went off the deep end, with the junkiest of junky conspiracy kooks eh?

Maybe, but he's entered the JAQing off and "isn't that weird" phase of his beliefs on it apparently

Also, improbable things happen occasionally

Re:Oswald going 3 for 3 with 2 grand slams

except he missed his first shot entirely because he attempted to make it over/through the tree in front of the book depository, so it’s believed to have deflected and missed the car entirely, bouncing off the pavement and hitting some rando in the face 🤣

So he only had to go 2-3….and really he only only hit the one HR. Shot to the back was more a double that allowed the runner from first (Connelly) to also score.

April 23, 1999: St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Fernando Tatis slugged two grand slams in the same inning. This had never been done before.

Hard to believe he was working alone. For sure, opposing pitcher Chan Ho Park (who served up both) was in on it. His motive is unsure (huge gambling debts were rumoured)
Home plate umpire was also involved as he hated the Dodgers growing up.

All of you are wrong about JFK. He actually survived the assassination attempt, but LBJ had his skin dyed black and dumped him in a nursing home.

Where he later teamed up with fellow resident Elvis Presley to defeat a reanimated Egyptian mummy that was feeding on the souls of their fellow residents.

Juiced balls, juiced bats, juiced players and ballparks designed to favor hitters. The wonder isn't that it happened, it's that it didn't happen on a daily basis.

Sounds a bit like Bubba Ho Tep

Generally speaking, I agree with Presto, occams razor and probabilities are great and explain most things. Just keep in mind that even 99% probability means 1 anomaly out of every 100 "sure things". Even 99.9% for the most improbable events ever, means 1 in 1000 can still be true. Whether that applies to a CIA conspiracy or Lee Harvey Oswald pulling off an improbable assassination.

Or 4 random lone gunmen killing 4 of the most famous people in the world over a few years.
