OT: Vacations

I've had five guys once I think.

I may have had a bagel at Panera way back many years ago. Unconfirmed though.

Never had an apple product in my life.

Camera body hardly matters any more I have a 15 year old pentax body, weather sealed. Use 50 year old prime lenses. Chef's kiss. Totally different story if you want to do video of course.

Or fast auto focus.

But yeah, for picture quality camera body isn't a huge deal. All the gains are incremental....

Until you start printing in larger format

Looking at plans for next year. Kid is due late December and likely will travel next fall/winter.

Likely beach/sun type vacation.
Nice.

So kid will be like 10 to 14 months.

My son's first plane was at 7 months and then a warm location at 18 months. A lot of change happens in there.

For the plane. Buy some random cheap toys to open on the plane (don't show the kid the toys until they are up in the air). Other than that lollipops are great for take off and landing.

Don't worry if the child gets upset. Sometimes that shit happens and I swear it is random. 30 hours straight in airports and airplanes on the way to Scotland he was an angel. For one hour on the return flight he screamed and that was a much smoother experience. Oh and stroller and car seat are usually free on planes.

As for the vacation. Take one of those carrying sacks or back packs that kids go in. Life jacket for the water (pool or ocean). Buy diapers and whatnot at your destination.

Expect things to take longer and plan accordingly. Flexibility is key.

Kids is 3 now and has been to Seattle, Vancouver, Mexico, Scotland, Ireland. It is not all that much different than stuff you'd do at home.
