OT: Vacations

I am trying to book bereavement fares with AC/WJ so my wife can attend her grandmother's funeral, and holy shit have I already lost my mind with AC's goddamn virtual phone call dumbass fucker.

I'll keep you posted on how it goes.
Shitty our choices are so limited. I generally find WJ ok, but I despise AC

Heading to Italy for 2 weeks doing Venice, Florence, Naples, Sorrento and Rome any recommendations for those cities? Restaurants or hidden gems?

I said this in jest — but I’ll second what UW said. That’s a lot of ground to cover in two weeks — I can spend 5 days in Rome and only scratch the surface.

It all depends on what you’re looking for — the more you can be specific, the more helpful the suggestions will be

Well like you said it’s a lot for 2 weeks so not really looking to get too crazy. We have most of the touristy stuff booked already in terms of museums and palaces etc. was just checking if maybe there is a favourite spot someone might have in those cities.

I'll second this - much prefer Florence to Venice. We made Florence our base for 10 days and did a little side trip to Cinque Terre.

Good choice. Cinque Terre is great. Last year I did like 4 days in San Gimignano, and it was nice to just sit and relax and watch the countryside. I do understand why people want to go do all the sites, but Italy is a great place to take your time with too. But it also depends on how much you expect to get back. If you feel you can get back there every few years then you don't need to rush around.

Hi... not a headline making vacation to you TO experts and world travelers 😉 but we're taking a few days in Niagara Falls in July meeting my mom who's driving over from MI, and from there all going to make a day trip up to Toronto to see the HHOF (I've been once, 20-ish years ago, but my wife, mom, etc.. haven't and want to go). Where's best place to park to get in and out of the HHOF area easiest (likely on a Thursday if that matters), and any other must-sees close by? Thanks for any pointers.

If you’re heading back to Niagara afterwards I would suggest eating dinner somewhere around the hhot anfterwards and getting out of the city later. If you leave between 4 and 630 pm it can take an hour just to get onto the gardiner (hwy that leads to qew to get to Niagara) due to some ramp work and closures. Plus there’s work on the gardiner towards the west end of the city that’s making a mess of things. There are some lots at king and church (5-10 min walk from hhof) that won’t bleed you dry. After the hall you can walk (15 mins) or Uber over to the distillery to walk around and grab a bite, and then get out 830-9.

For getting there, there is a direct commuter train (GO Transit) from Niagara Falls to Union Station (rail/bus/metro hub) that's about a 10 minute walk to the HHOF. Would be a lot easier than fighting the construction and traffic, just have to be aware of the schedule.
