OT: Vacations

Good stuff. Love the Jack the Ripper idea.

It was fun, some buildings are exactly as is. We walled down those creepy alleyways that have not changed. Historians are fighting with the city not to tear down too many buildings. One of the major Ripper killing areas 5 years ago got torn down for a supermarket.

I am certified in scuba diving. My bucket list is to go to the blue hole off the coast of Belize

I don't scuba, but took a flight over it to see it when I did a Central America trip in the fall. Pretty damn awesome to see, can't imagine what it would be like to be on the surface or diving below it.

I'm also a diver, but to be honest what I've heard about the Blue Hole is not really that great. Important caveat, I am a big time diving snob. But I've heard that the Blue Hole has been basically overtrafficked into oblivion. Just too many tourists and dive shops.

I mean, if I had the opportunity I would definitely still dive there. But it isn't near the top of my 'to dive' list.

Talking about the best hipster destination. Personally there isn't a place in North America that particularly excites me but I'm giving it a chance. Convince me.

are you a cities or a nature seeker? or both?

A little bit of both. Diversity is very important for me too, especially when it comes to cuisine so that probably rules out Portland.

I was originally all in on LA but logistically it's a truly awful city and not having a true downtown area is another negative point for me. Wandering in an urban downtown area with lots going on is usually my go-to when I don't really have plans on a particular day.
