OT: Vacations

I'm sorry dude but reading this stuff is cracking me up. Like what did you think? Brutal sun in the subtropics.

Before pandemic used to f off out of here in July and August. Problem is September is a real bitch, many tourists don't know that.

As someone who has been in Mexico during just about every season they have, I've got sympathy for HL.

Her travel wasn't voluntary I don't think. Some people plan destination weddings at the worst times

Oh wow. That's some serious lack forethought. I wasn't referring to her though, its a common theme. Yes things are cheaper for a reason, if you're not in the desert where your skin sears right off you're in an air shower zone where the humidity almost immediately drenches you.

There a reason the natives ran around in loin clothes.

The Mexican resort staff are complaining too, so yeah, the Canadians are gonna struggle. Pool is like warm bath water. Lovely country, I’d just pick another month.

But as previously stated, I’m not a huge resort person period.
same, still haven't been to one. The closest is a cruise, which I'll never do again. Definitely prefer more off the beaten path.

St. Lawrence “river” (more like the North Atlantic in these parts) is crazy cold!! 🥶
Well ya, that's why you go to the beach. Although this time of year even the surf temps are elevated. This is most definitely summer but unlike many places up north that freak on heat waves, we're prepared for it.

Made it back to Canada.

Pearson passport control was hilarious. 8000 kiosks only to have I giant swam bottleneck where you show the kiosk receipt. The ropes that led you to nowhere were the best part.

Now I wait for the covid symptoms to kick in.

That's why I was amazed in Asia. Every airport had army personnel directing people. It flowed so quickly and efficiently. An Airbus full, over 400 passengers, we had our bags and were processed in less than 30 minutes.
