OT: Vacations

Made it! Taking a decent size carry on if you can ain’t a bad idea if any of you are traveling soon.

Getting as much in your carry on is a good idea but be prepared if you are carrying necessities like medications. There is a possibility that you may told to check your carry on,

Have to start planning for my Banff trip later this month. Will have my 5 year old with me.

Any must see recommendations?

I'll he there for four full days. Arrival day and departure day I am not planning for. I'll count those as bonus.

Yeah, those.

Only other things I would throw in are johnston canyon and during the winter radium is a must...summer, dunno. Might be nice if the hot springs are open at night.

Back and both negative so far although my wife may have recovered from it as she had 1 day of cough (likely a hangover).

Anyone been to Arizona? I technically have, but only to see the Grand canyon from Vegas. Any good things to see? I'm spending the week there to see the Leafs and other sights right after Christmas.

Anyone flown Swoop recently? I'm looking at flights to Florida in March and they are 30% cheaper or so than the usual suspects.

Define recently?

I am but never international. Make sure after fees and whatnot it is still 30 percent cheaper

Does Air Tran show up in the traditional flight searches?

It was the best for us last year when going to Lauderdale (direct and bags for ~450 each).

I have. YYZ->YHZ. Only marginally shittier than Westjet or AC. I do prefer Flair to Swoop.

With Swoop, you're unable to select your seat at any point in the process. Everything beyond your personal item costs extra. But it still works out to cheaper than the main airlines usually.

The one thing you may want to figure out is how many Swoop flights fly the route you are taking each day, just in case one is cancelled/postponed.

The planes are the same shit westjet uses, so no difference there.

last 6 months? It looks like you have to add ~$125 per round trip per passenger for bags. I was looking at mid march and it totaled $435 for two round trip tickets. So even adding another $250 makes it $350 or so per passenger which is still way cheaper than most airlines.

I flew Swoop in November. Mrs. Wayward flew Swoop over the holidays. Pretty sure all of our flights were delayed, like an hour or three. YHZ, YYZ, YOW.

and I usually pay the like $15 or whatever so I can change my ticket for free if I need to
