We're all poor due to Biden and Harris's failed economic policies

Anyone been to Barbados? Any recommendations? Were going end of Feb for 5 nights.
My favorite island.

You're going to love it.

Make sure to hit Crane Beach. Pink sands and beautiful turquoise water with awesome buoyancy to float on your back. The sand doesn't get hot on the feet either, amazes me every time.

They've started doing all inclusives there I've hreard.
We prefer doing the airbnb and car rental thing. We’ve had some good family adventures on the islands this way. the ease of chilling on an all inclusive resort sure sounds good at times.

Yea we’re 5 mins drive from Crane Beach. A few people recommended Holetown. Any other cool spots to check out? We’ll be travelling with a 1.5 year old toddler.

I really want to go to Japan this may. But my wife is saying a 13hr flight from yyz would be too much for an almost 2 year old.

Compromise might be Portugal. But damn I’d love to go to Japan

Japan is great.

Make sure to have Google translate on your phone. People speak English, but if you want sketchy Ramen shops, they often have no English. And you definitely want to go to those sketchy Ramen shops, they are amazing.

Fuji is worth going to the town near there, nice views. Osaka is a nice city, that's where I spent most of my time. Kyoto is a great visit obviously.

Sushi is fantastic. I know one sushi place I went to was like 1$ per piece for a great tuna sashimi. Japanese food is underrated too. Okonomiyaki is mostly in Osaka, and is definitely worth going out for multiple times. Never mind Ramen, curries, etc...

Travel is not for toddlers imo
Immune system is too weak
My son got hepatitis during vacation way back being 3 and apparently I also did but it wasn’t strong enough for me to go on full force only blood test showed it existence
Heard many horror stories
Wait till kid 5

Booked Japan for start of April.

Anyone been?
Must see?
Don't bother?

Heard the railway is not worth it now because the price tripled.

I loved Japan. Went for 17 days.

The food is fantastic — not just Japanese cuisine — they nail everything, Italian, French, etc.

Trains, Subways are next level.

I found most folks did not speak English, but subways are bilingual and Google translate is your friend, especially in restaurants. You can also use the site tablelog.com. Pretty much lists every restaurant you’ll stumble across. Plenty of photos for each restaurant so you can point to wish you want to eat.

Tokyo is an obvious must. So is Kyoto but I stayed in Osaka (cheaper accommodation, more stuff to do at night, bigger city) and took the 20 min train between cities.

I really liked the smaller cities down south and the island of Miyajima. Good place to chill.

Every travel guide lists going to the the Tokyo fish market at 5am as a must do, but I avoided it, and all the locals said it was the right call

Got a 4 year old and... 16 month old.
It's 9 hours. From Vancouver.

Should be fun....

Did 36 hours (to Scotland) with delays and what not to get there with almost 2 year old. Was amazing going there. Lost his shit for an hour on the way back during a shorter flight (Toronto to Edmonton).
