OT: What are you Watching/Listening/Drinking?

Yeah, well, I’m also making hot dog fried rice.

Trying to rid the fridge of loose odds and ends puts a serious dent in bourgeois aesthetic.
Not a big fan of hot dogs but I'd eat the fuck out of that. I made a simple olive oil, garlic pasta sauce with some homemade sausage that I removed the casing off of for dinner tonight.

Tldr: make your own sausages. I make a fuckton every year and freeze them. Lasts me 6-8 months. They're seasoned all differently so you get a nice variety too.

The craziest thing I ever did was roast my own coffee beans for half a year. Too much, and then the selection of coffee beans in Toronto got infinitely better

Now that's next level pretentious. I love it. Entirely fucking worth it too. Nothing beats freshly roasted beans. Nothing.

Boars head makes a premium beef frank that’s ridiculously good. It would be criminal to actually call them hot dogs though.

Honestly sounds delish.

Frying up random meat into rice and whatever else is one of my favorites. Sometimes awesome, often a disaster.

But that dish is one of the reasons I want a goddamn good cast iron cuz none of my pans crisp the rice properly.

And yes it's the pans not the chef.

Get a fucking wok.

When I went to Walmart today there was a sign in the meat section that explained that due to supply issues they've had to source some meats from the US.

Wonder how much of an issue this will be. Anyone else noticed shortages in stores yet?

Read this very carefully. Try it again with the wok. Come back and report your findings.

Note: A cast iron skillet is NOT ideal for any fried rice dish especially if you have a FUCKING wok.

I try to not go to stores but I just tried to order my coffee beans and I swear there's like half the selection there used to be for the past five years. I'm going to have to try new beans I guess... Fuck.

I swear to ****, this forum has the snobbiest, most pretentious group of fucking people ever. Zeke makes his own hot sauce and none of us even budge. I love us.

I hate cooking. If it doesn’t come in a can, a box or frozen with reheating instructions then it’s not food.

I go to a smaller grocery chain in hamilton for meat and produce. Everything was fully stocked last week.

yeah. all the meat I get is from local farms that deal directly with the shop keepers, so they’re not impacted at all by the big processors

Only thing I've noticed empty shelves for lately is flour, yeast, and all Lysol/anti-bac soap products.

Toilet paper is all good now. Even though Wal-mart had the meat sign posted, they seemed to have plenty.
