Europe has already signaled that they see Ukraine as part of Europe. The door has been open to EU membership for well over a decade now and the root of what they're going through now is Maidan, a protest to overthrew a corrupt President who was trying to take Ukraine away from it's european dream.
They're not letting the US backdoor them, or Russia take it. I think they've finally figured out that Ukraine is existential for them. If Russia wins, they annex Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, Moldova and what's left of Ukraine in whichever order makes the most sense. When that's done, they come for the Baltics, but now with the added strength the annexed states provide.
At best they'll expect Finlandization from Finland, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Hungary but a new age Finlandization with deeper meddling in the domestic politics of those countries with an implied threat that they had better look the other way about it, until they're also captured vassal states similar to Belarus today.
Europe either has to deal with this bullshit now, or we're in Cold War 2.0 within 10 years but maybe the US is on the wrong side this time around.
