Yeah, I know that they edit the footage to make it look like they were all in agreement about Demidov now that they have him, but I doubt they thought at the time that he'd actually be available at 5th. So I'm thinking they were going Cayden as Plan 1A and had they done so, his subsequent injury issues would be so on brand for this team over the past 40 years. I can't think of anything more Bergy-Timmins than taking a guy at 5th overall who may never play due to chronic back injuries.
