Pierre-Luc Dubois Thread

I don’t think any GM wants to piss off Brisson. Too powerful. There’s a reason he seems to be “friends” with almost every GM in the league

But the Jets will always be on the short end of the stick. He will never be their friend.

I think the overall strategy is fine, they have no other way to compete. You are basically advocating a perpetual rebuild by selling early. They need to build an internal core and ride it as long as they can and hope for good fortune. If it fails, the liquidate and start over.
My point on my process is this

If your Colorado and a legitimate contender you can keep your star core and overpay them and deal with the cap later

Peg like other teams are going nowhere and their window was shut years ago with a decent core in place

Yes , they have to sell tickets and keep the fan and corporate base entertained but the inevitable reboot is staring you in the face

Players are not going to resign and your stuck being a dreaded middle team

You make moves in stages and not forced trades

IMO they were better off trading MS, Helly years ago in stages and netting Suzuki type ++ returns and take pressure of a longer rebuild

Those assets are on your roster now and the top prospects developing

Habs are in it now and your seeing Peg, Nashville , Flyers etc... as next victims
