Pierre-Luc Dubois Thread

Apart from his meltdown year, he’s been fairly consistent ~0.75 ppg player.

2G and 2A in 5 playoff games this year, though with a shit +/-.

Definitely not 9M. Not 8M either, but in the 7s seems to be in the ballpark.
Cap is going up a lot. It's in line with him if he's perennial 70-80 point guy

Yep, I need the headcase risk priced in.

There’s definitely a Delicate Genius issue here. But is that any different from players who only want to be in NYC or warm weather teams with no media coverage?

There was obviously a problem in Columbus, but one could argue the team is equally to blame. And despite Brisson’s skullduggery in the media, the PLD-Jets relationship seems to be rather professional, if coolish.

A few things: players are malcontents but the ultimate pros usually keep things quiet, and they're all in when the puck drops. Dubois' numbers have stagnated and he disappears for long stretches of time while he ruminates about all the fancy restaurants outside of Winnipeg.

Maybe Torts bears some responsibility but our very own Martin St Louis says he's great to play for and one shouldn't conflate how he handles the media and how he treats his players

PLD actually never said a bad word about Torts and always claimed that his desire to leave Columbus had nothing to do with him. Things went sideways when he made it clear he wanted to leave.

PLD is not "a top player." He's above average. That's it.
He's a top 6 forward on most any team and there's a price point for that kind of player. He won't be our best player, and he can't be and shouldn't be, unless our goal is to finish 8th every year and be eliminated in the second round.

He is known for treating more than just the media like shit.
