Allen… extra year on contract might be useful for team that had no one locked past this year (such as the Kings.)

Don’t expect much of a return, later round pick to liberate cap and roster space is fine by me.

I think David Savard will be heavily sought after.....one more year for a known quantity (defensive vet stalwart) you can pencil without worrying

I can see a team like the Oilers wanting him + a faceoff proficient pivot like Monahan
