Rumors: 2024-25 Season

Arthur Kalyev is one the biggest high point totals, zero actual impact on games player I ever saw in Junior. Based on his boxscore alone, he should have been a top-5 pick in his draft year, but he fell to the early second. He's like Tomas Tatar. He'll get numbers in the regular season, but when the playoffs start? He's the last player you'll want on your team. If you took his skills and gave him Gallagher's heart & will, he'd be in the short list for best player in hockey.

I watched some of his games and you will never notice him. And somehow, he's on the scoresheet.

He'll probably have a decent career on teams that are always at the bottom of the standings and he'll have respectable numbers. But you'll never see him on championship teams barring an of God.
So he will fit in in well with the Habs

Winnipeg also owns our second rounder this year. I’d be fine with their first and our second back.

Not bad, I am sure Hugo has something bigger planned with picks anyways. I would love to get Ryan Leonard from WASH or some forward we missed out on last year in the draft.

Habs apparently one of 4-5 teams who’ve called Ana regarding Zegras per Lebrun

I doubt a rebuilding team is going to trade a young player with upside for pennies on the dollar. So I'm not really interested.
I'm not so sure the Ducks are fully committed to rebuilding. Unlike the Habs they are in a yuge sports market, a market that includes another NHL team across town. Their barn is half empty. They simply don't have the luxury of time like the Habs.

What do you think they’re currently doing? Even if they win a Cup, which they did, they have a limited clientele, and they know that. They’re not in a huge rush.

other than Gavin Newsom's ridiculously high taxes, there's no reason anyone would refuse to play in Orange County!

I mean if they want Gallagher. Sure.

But they have had the 9th, 6th, 3rd, 10th, 2nd overall picks. With another good pick coming.

And they did trade away the 6th overall for a younger player.

For a team not committed to a rebuild they sure have been tanking.
