Rumors: 2024-25 Season

from Brian Wilde this morning:

"Montreal is not going to win enough games either until they add some top prospect scorers like Jiri Kulich, Matthew Savoie, or Noah Ostlund. Buffalo definitely doesn’t want to lose any of those players. Montreal doesn’t want to lose Harris or Struble either. Montreal wouldn’t want to have to throw in a first rounder too, but they may have to.

The bottom line is the Canadiens have an overabundance of defenders, and defenders and centres are the hottest commodities on the trading market. If not Buffalo, there are a number of other clubs who need to strengthen their defence."

Boy oh boy, Brian Wilde hasn't gotten wiser with age, that's for sure.

Like, the three players he named from Buffalo? Yeah, only Savoie's 20 and the other two are 19. None of them have started their ELCs yet. All first round picks, as opposed to our older, 22/23 year old 2nd & 3rd round picks where we have a decent idea as what they are at the NHL level.

Kulich is finishing yr 1 of ELC

Just remember Wilde was the first one to call Redenbacher to Habs at this exact time last year and got lambasted for it…

well remember the covid cuck thought Schlemko could be a top pair D and that going into bus with McCagg was a good idea

Yeah. If Calgary and Florida both finish in the lottery and get the top 2 picks?
Next years 1st is 1OA protected. If it lands 1OA, the pick then defers to 2026, which is totally, 100% unprotected. Thus theoretically, we can pick as high as 2OA next year or 1OA in 2026.

there's a higher chance that the NHL abolishes the draft then Florida wins the lottery in 2026
