UFA are gross overpays and not interested in Rasmus Andersson types at 7-8 mil x 7 years

I dont see Hugo overpaying in a trade as well . Habs are not netting a 23-25 year old right fit for this rebuild

Only hope is a Laine type salary dump but dont see many D`s available waiving for Montreal .

Simply put DR has to hit with Hutson and Guhle and hope Mailloux can refine his game to be a functional 4D .

A stud like Schaefer is what we need or unpleasantly you move a Hage for a stud D prospect in some teams depth chart where kids have no control like the McGroaty type deal .

You can't draft a veteran defenseman, which is what this team needs. We need a vet RHD that can play on the top 4, even if just for the sake of developing our young D. Essentially another Matheson for the right side. It is what it is, but it can't be addressed through the draft. We need this guy by next year at most.
