Oh sure he will likely go down for a conditioning stint but not for 6 months.

That should be a plan B/C. He would be an OK third pairing guy on a team full of good D, but shouldn't be the main veteran reliable D-man type which this team needs if it's trying to make the playoffs (Matheson, who I like a lot, is likely traded and is too mistake prone to fit that bill anyways).

yes plan B on a dirt cheap 1 year deal and not give a slug term in UFA
