One advantage going into the big NYE game is that Carter George has been way better than Trey Augustine.

Slovakia was up 4-2 on Kazakhstan after two.

Kazakhstan scores two shorthanded goals in the final three and half minutes, including the tying goal at 59:31.

Slovakia then wins it in OT.

Tremendous theatre in the Germany - Latvia game.

Needing to win in regulation to stay alive, Germany pulls the goalie on the power play to go 6 on 4...and Latvia scores to go up 3-2 at 57:16.

20 seconds later, Germany scores to tie it again.

Germany had a great chance in the dying seconds but Feldbergs made the save and we're headed to overtime.

Latvia qualifies for the quarters, Germany will play Kazakhstan or Switzerland in the relegation game.

when you play the Americans, you need to hit them often and hard. American hockey is more of a fancy pants panty waist type, and if you hit them, you take that away.
