Threads isn’t launching in countries that have privacy laws respecting user consent and control of their own personal information and communications. Not sure what else there is to say. [contains quote post or other embedded content]bsky.app

Yup
Like I said, I'm waiting for desktop, where I have much more robust privacy tools available to me and less data they're interested in (they make so much of their money tracking your physical movements with your phone data man....)
The slow-motion, invite-only rollout of BlueSky seems like a really bad idea.
Unfortunately i'm thinking it just stays a phone app like insta.
But 30m + signups already. This is where Bluesky can't compete. Invite only is nice because it keeps the corps away but the key for twitter was that everyone had access to it.
Threads isnt very good but neither is twitter anymore so i dunno. Best i can hope for is that twitter tanks completely and Musk gives up and someone else buys it and just restores the old twitter.
Thing is it's still beta version. They're testing ans building it still. They don't have the infrastructure to handle millions of signups like meta can.
Understood. But whether it’s a deliberate strategy or due to technical limitations, I think the result will be the same. Bluesky’s going to get left in the dust.
For a mass migration from one platform to a single other platform to hit critical mass, you have to be in a position to take in all the refugees from the previous site.
