Tech Thread

Almost like he's trying to build a full on disinformation website the year before the election or something. Let's make it impossible to block disinfo twats, take away the built in tools for providing accurate information and then amplify the voices of anyone who pays 8 bucks a month in the comments.

“Full on disinformation website” would make 2024 twitter a lot like 2016 twitter.

Hoping another viable alternative has emerged well before that.

In which Elon points to The War of Drugs as a model of success that his Twitter subscription scheme is trying to emulate:

That’s a good summary.

The playing video games till 5:30 am is not typically in the “how to become a billionaire” handbook

Which is cool, just spare us the "I'm the best boss because I work 100 hours a week and sleep in my office" bullshit. Yeah, he sleeps in his office....which I'm sure has a PC with big ass screens and Elden Ring installed on it. Being "at the office" until 3AM playing Elden Ring doesn't prove that you work hard, it proves that you don't know how to function around your family so just avoid them like Zeke avoids shoes normal people would consider wearing.

The news falls in line with other accusations piling up against Musk. Since the tech multibillionaire’s acquisition, the social media juggernaut has been embroiled in countless legal battles, many stemming from alleged failures to pay its bills. Several have been resolved or dropped, but in February alone, the company was struck with at least six non-payment lawsuits.

2200 arbitration cases with almost 4 million dollars worth of fees associated with that (but not including the actual severance payments, which is likely in the 50-100 million dollar range in total).

Elon: I am not anti semitic

Also Elon: Twitter advertising is down 60%

This is hilarious on so many levels…

  • Someone else is “mostly to blame” for advertisers fleeing Twitter. Not the fault at all of Elon & his brilliant decisions, of course.

  • Still pegging Twitter’s “true” price at the insane overvaluation he paid. And again, it’s someone else’s fault it’s not valued at that amount.

  • Continuing the strategy of trying to win over/win back potential advertising dollars by suing, threatening and publicly browbeating companies into spending their ad dollars on his platform.

  • The host of hilarious blow-back that’d come from taking this to court.
