So is this when Elon has realized that he's made a terrible mistake?
That the maga twits don't actually love him unconditionally, and buying a 10 billion dollar company for 45 billion to protect their free speech (that was never in danger) is the biggest business mistake in human history?

Starting to block his reich wing cheerleaders after they criticize him though.
These were the people he was actively championing by buying Twitter and he wasn't shy about saying it at the time. Free Speech vs Left Wing Bots and he was going to be the knight in shining armor for "Free Speech".

what has he done in the past eight+ months that make you think he will ever make a logical decision without accidentally stumbling into it?
he consistently doubles down on his nonsense and prefers to simply parrot and reinforce viewpoints that support, rather than challenge, his pre-existing views.
the dude is clearly just a troll, not playing 4D underwater chess or anything.

Agreed, and I don't expect him to ever admit his mistakes, I'm just trying to decode his actions here a bit. Less than 12 months ago this guy was the hero to the right wing free speech brigade, and by his own words he bought Twitter largely to ensure that free speech (in this case, clearly he meant the modern right wing version of the term) had a safe space.
A year later he's blocking them because they've turned on him (predictably).
I'm just wondering if in what counts as moments of quiet reflection for him, he's at the point of questioning what the fuck he did here.

oh I think he is way less calculated and conniving than people give him credit for and just throws shit against the wall til it sticks.
i.e. everyone keeps pretending he is smart and has some master plan, when really he's just been winging it all along. I think he's just winging it. so he has no idea what comes next, nor does anyone else.
I don't think we've reached the point yet where any self doubt starts creeping in though - I still think he believes that with his brilliant and unique brainpower he can singlehandedly fix this all

would be great if he finally learned something here. of course, we thought this would've happened 5 minutes after he got under the hood and took a look at the numbers, or once the inner workings of Twitter were explained to him by those who knew what was going on.
of course he fired them all instead and has been doubling down on his own nonsense ever since.
still, his turning on these guys right now is downright shocking.
