nah the dude clearly does not have anywhere near this kind of self-awarenessSo is this when Elon has realized that he's made a terrible mistake?
That the maga twits don't actually love him unconditionally, and buying a 10 billion dollar company for 45 billion to protect their free speech (that was never in danger) is the biggest business mistake in human history?

what has he done in the past eight+ months that make you think he will ever make a logical decision without accidentally stumbling into it?Starting to block his reich wing cheerleaders after they criticize him though.
These were the people he was actively championing by buying Twitter and he wasn't shy about saying it at the time. Free Speech vs Left Wing Bots and he was going to be the knight in shining armor for "Free Speech".

he consistently doubles down on his nonsense and prefers to simply parrot and reinforce viewpoints that support, rather than challenge, his pre-existing views.
the dude is clearly just a troll, not playing 4D underwater chess or anything.
oh I think he is way less calculated and conniving than people give him credit for and just throws shit against the wall til it sticks.Agreed, and I don't expect him to ever admit his mistakes, I'm just trying to decode his actions here a bit. Less than 12 months ago this guy was the hero to the right wing free speech brigade, and by his own words he bought Twitter largely to ensure that free speech (in this case, clearly he meant the modern right wing version of the term) had a safe space.
A year later he's blocking them because they've turned on him (predictably).
I'm just wondering if in what counts as moments of quiet reflection for him, he's at the point of questioning what the fuck he did here.
So is this when Elon has realized that he's made a terrible mistake?

Already realized it but as a narcissist he’ll double down until death
this could also be trueAlready realized it but as a narcissist he’ll double down until death
would be great if he finally learned something here. of course, we thought this would've happened 5 minutes after he got under the hood and took a look at the numbers, or once the inner workings of Twitter were explained to him by those who knew what was going on.So is this when Elon has realized that he's made a terrible mistake?

On my reading list
“SpaceX, Musk’s space-exploration company, had for months been providing Internet access across Ukraine, allowing the country’s forces to plan attacks and to defend themselves. But, in recent days, the forces had found their connectivity severed as they entered territory contested by Russia. More alarmingly, SpaceX had recently given the Pentagon an ultimatum: if it didn’t assume the cost of providing service in Ukraine, which the company calculated at some four hundred million dollars annually, it would cut off access. “We started to get a little panicked,” the senior defense official, one of four who described the standoff to me, recalled. Musk “could turn it off at any given moment. And that would have real operational impact for the Ukrainians.”

Musk, usually impassive in interviews, cried openly when he told Rolling Stone about the years that followed, in which, he said, his father psychologically tortured him, in ways that he declined to specify. “You have no idea about how bad,” he said. “Almost every crime you can possibly think of, he has done. Almost every evil thing you could possibly think of, he has done.” Taoushiani recalled witnessing Errol “chastise Elon a lot. Maybe belittle him.” (Errol Musk has denied allegations that he was abusive to Maye or to his children.) Musk has also said that he was violently bullied at school. Though he is now six feet one, with a broad-shouldered build, he was “much, much smaller back in school,” Taoushiani told me. “He wasn’t very social.”
