Tech Thread

nah i haven't replaced it really. it's weird.

at least it made me realize why twitter was so good in the first place - my own curated lists, and precious little social media spam like you get everywhere else.

It’s still good for stonks when I see a ticker move or contract/trade deets when a player moves

I only click on it through forum ice now.

Maybe that changes when hockey season starts but probably not

It is pretty stunning how rapidly it continues to get worse. In any Tweet that’s gone decently viral, most of the top replies for pages and pages are complete non-sequiturs from blue checkmark spambot accounts.

And all of the ads are for scam products/scam companies.

Yeah the amount of ads is ridiculous

It's all drop shipping crap too.

Hey....here's a video of a product that you can use, come visit our website and buy it for 49 bucks....but please don't go to aliexpress where it's listed for 12 bucks, seriously, please.

Don’t threaten my passive income, bro

Getting closer to being usable then.

Though do you still need to sign up for Instagram to have a Threads account?
I think so? But not sure that’s really any different than if you had to sign up for a threads account. They don’t force you to post selfies or develop a lifestyle brand.

Enough of the accounts I followed have moved over or perhaps just post on both, so if there’s some current event, I can open the threads app and see what is going on. Main difference is that the comments aren’t a cesspool of MaGAt blue checks.
