The 2019-2020 MotherFucking Season Thread

Bobo says we’re looking for a RHD (or LHD with experience on right) with term.

If this is true, it likely means we're punting on Ceci, which is the right move. But it also means we're not too horny about handing the keys to Lilly, which could be a mistake but is a more cautious approach, so meh.

Lilly starts the season with us next year as a 21 yr old, pretty much right on schedule.

Still looking for the elusive RH Robin to Rielly's Batman.

If we can find a RH workhorse that plays to Rielly's strengths - you could play the hell out of that pairing in the playoffs.

As for goalteanding - scuttlebutt is that Lehner is looking for a big money contract - indifferent to term.

Lehner should go to a place like Carolina. He'd be mentally murdered in Toronto.

Where have you been in the last 20 years? The worst of the worst still got sympathy from the fanbase and media

This city never holds shitty goalies accountable and likely never will

If Lehner continued to perform like he has been the last few years they would be calling for his statue on legends row

The ideal, is to pull a goaltender out of a hat before the playoffs - one that no team/player has a book on.

A little bit of adversity, and the Toronto media stabbing at will, and he'll be looking for the nearest bridge to jump off from.

Petry would be a realgud fit.

and would be paired with a muzzin re-signing.

which means no Pietro, but that's ok.

Haven't we learned that 1 elite talent > 2 mid tier talents?

Pietrangelo if possible is imo >>>> than Petry + Muzzin.

Chara vs Hagman + Komisarek

Honestly I think I might disagree with that. I agree with your point in general but having two legit top 3-4 d for the rest of this year and next might be better than paying for one Pietroangelo at a crazy rate long-term. That's if they even get a sniff of him. Remember, odds are against him even being available.

Petry leaves after next season, just in time for Liljegren to take over in a top 4 role after spending next season on the bottom pair. Might be perfect.

i question the elitude of Pietro tbh. but at the same time i'd probably gamble on him, too.

Unless we address the goaltending it won’t matter. All 3 first round exits we were ousted by poor goaltending

Not cool man, the guy got help and is clearly doing better mentally. How bout you go jump off a bridge with that fucking ignorant attitude.

The guy was great, then had undiagnosed, untreated chemical balance issues for a season where he struggled. Got treated for those issues and has been a .926 goalie since.

19-20: .922
18-19: .930
17-18: .908 (played with undiagnosed bi polar)
16-17: .920
15-16: .924

The stigma from LoF is kind of gross, yeah. If it was some sort of physical ailment that kept him from playing well, was treated and we hadn't seen in 2 years of stellar play since, nobody would raise that as a concern.

Honestly I think he might be mad because Lehner is an ex-Sen.
