The 2019-2020 MotherFucking Season Thread

Kerfoot's not our 3C, though. He's a left-winger.

And honestly, I'm not overly impressed with what he's brought this year.

I wouldn't mind recouping some assets (a 1st if someone offered) assuming we were making a deal for a rielly partner.

Team that may make sense for barrie would be carolina for our 1st back.

I have a really hard time questioning the logic behind the trade when it was made, although I've been very disappointed with Barrie this year.

Yeah, I recall really liking the deal when it was announced. But at the time I thought Barrie was basically a right-handed version of Jake Gardiner in his prime and hoped that Kerfoot was a guy who'd be able to fill the 3rd line center hole left behind by Kadri and score 40-50 points.

But Barrie's not a defenseman you can trust in a top-pairing role, Kerfoot doesn't seem suited to being a full-time center in the NHL and he's currently scoring at a 35-point pace. So, hard not to be disappointed in how this trade's turned out.

Kadri is weird this year.

The offense is all the way back, but the impact numbers are brutes, even with very soft usage for a 2nd line C. But that entire team's offense has exploded so that almost everyone is putting up career best p60 marks. Gotta think there's some fluke there, but who knows?

Kerfoot has been much better than Naz was for us last year for sure, at least.

So in engvall a long term 3C or is that something to add to the shopping list?

2 names that jump out to me are jenner and bennett

Im still wiling to give Kerfoot the opportunity to prove himself at 3C. We dont really have much of a sample of him in that role and iirc he was doing fine their until the injury against LA

Im torn on the Barrie situation. He would be ideal in a second pairing role but with Holl having that all but locked down and Timmy looking comfortable where does that leave him?

In the free agent market this summer, watching us sign AP on July 1.

How much of a sample did we get of Kerfoot at C?

Seems like he has been on the wing for a while

Kerfoot has been fine at 3C, not great, but fine. I think he's looked way better in the middle of the ice than he has on the wing though.

Im 100% out on him as an FA but Im talking for the post deadline run

If we are looking for help on the right side do you include him in the package, deal him for forward help or send Timmy down and slot him with Sandin on the 3rd pairing.

Problem is, as crazy as he's driving us, the worst thing you can say about him is that he functions as a good #3-4 who drives play in the right direction and generates a good pile of offence. What are we replacing him with, that generates similar impact?

Our problem isn't that he's bad, he's not. Our problem is that we're missing our #1 defender and have pushed off his usual responsibilities to others, and they're not as good as he is. There aren't many teams who can lose their #1 guy and not have the rest of the blueline look over extended. We miss (healthy) Morgan Rielly.
