People constantly hear Freddy is "Left out to dry" and carries the team after every victory. Even ones where he faces less shots than the oppostions goalie.
 
The thing is the leafs clearly deserved to lose the last two games, so now it seems petty to be mad at the goalie.

But it's the 10-15gms before that where we were playing very well but still lost a bunch of crucial points thanks to the goalies that really sting.

Big, truculent Marchment for another midget.

A lot of Leaf Nation and media types will froth at the mouth over this. But in the end this is a nothing move. Marchment is flat-out not an NHL player, and Malgin doesn't look like he's much of anything either.

He's listed as a center, so if he can actually play that position I guess he gives us some more depth.
 
Anyone angry about that trade is a fucking idiot, full stop. Marchment looked neither physical nor truculent in his cup of coffee with the Leafs. He looked slow, untalented, and weak on his skates. He's an almost 25 yr old AHL middle 6 winger without a NHL toolkit.

Malgin is a skill midget, but he was a PPG skill midget in the AHL at 20 yrs old. He looks like a functioning 4th liner at the NHL level as well, something I don't see Marchment ever becoming.
