To be fair, LF2005 is a fucking tool. He actually prefers when the Leafs are awful because he's the most relentlessly negative person on this board. Maybe the world? I haven't done the appropriate research. I was yelling at my TV last night to be sure, but trade everyone? Blow it up? Naw. It's one game, as embarrassing as it is. If the Leafs had gotten just league average goaltending since Keefe took over they'd be in a comfortable playoff spot. They didn't so now they are in a dogfight to make it. I still believe in the roster and have little doubt they make the playoffs.

Yeah so hit or miss. Not saying he's been bad but I haven't been blown away yet.


It's just frustrating because his biggest mistake (signing JT) has the potential to be an absolute catastrophe and can severely limit the teams upside for years to come.

I wasn't fully on #teamdontdoit but it's starting to become concerning for me. I'm just surprised people want to do it again with Pietrangelo. That's another one that has disaster written all over it.

So you are actually having trouble reconciling the fact that the Leafs are merely a playoff team but not an elite team is that it?

Okay, maybe a player or two needs to be swapped out to right the ship but wholesale changes would be reactionary and really not the way to go.

I can't believe I'm trying to talk a Leaf fan off the edge.

Second of all I called this shit a while ago while idiot fucks like you were laughing and throwing out nonsense excuses and ad homenims.

I call it how I see it. If you and others can't man up and admit how very wrong you were about this team and how stupid you look now then I don't really know what to say.

They aren't a playoff team.

Moving out a few spare parts isn't going to fix this team. It starts with upper management all the way to their top guys who are passengers way too often. There is no ledge, this is just a fact at this point. Not sure what more evidence people need at this point.

All this talk about analytics = bad is kind of making me laugh though. The Canes,for example, embrace analytics probably more than any other team in the NHL. The Leafs haven't had even close to elite nerd stats for years now. They've been a 10-15 team. My issue is that Dubas, for all his analytic approach, hasn't improved that at all. If you're going to blame Dubas, fine. But don't blame nerd stats when the leafs don't even have great nerd stats.

If they become the analytics darlings of the NHL and still suck dick, that's when I'll accept nerd stat attacks. They're nowhere near that though.

All I heard was how great our nerd stats were after Dubas took over. The fuck out of here with this take. Bad losses were exempt because they kept teams to low HD chances and their PDO was too low. That's all anybody talks about around here.

And the GM and coach follow the same mantra.

Well their nerd stats have been mediocre to bad outside of their 11 or 12 game streak under Keefe where they were world beaters.

The results have matched that. Good nerd stats --> had win streak. Bad nerd stats --> mediocre team.

It's almost like nerd stats have strong predictability in results.

You are literally only active here after losses. Can't you just pull a Jonas and switch teams so we don't have to see your surly self around? Detroit is a pretty bad team. You'd love them.

BTW, Leafs are still in a playoff spot because Florida is also sucking lately. In case you hadn't noticed.

Have been active all year buttercup. You just see what you want to see. And I don't give a fuck about them being in a playoff spot. They lost to a zamboni driver. Who cares if they sneak in to 3rd and get swept?
