I don’t really see anyone on that roster likely to be available that I’d want as immediate help.

They also don’t have a first or second round pick this year, and can’t trade their 2021 first rounder because it’s tied up as a conditional pick in another trade.

If he nails this then he gets some cred but Im not holding my breath.

Its likely going to be a Barrie couldnt get an extension done and the deal fell through follow up
 
Never claimed to be the smartest fanbase

The trade was a good deal at the time that had potential to really good but unfortunately they dont always work out. Barrie just didnt seem to fit in.

He probably moves on and settles into his new team and does well

He's Mark Streit minus the bomb from the point. He is what he is and will not likely do better elsewhere unless he's sheltered on a third pairing of a contender.

Not really a good comp to compare Kaberle and Murphy to Barrie. They were legit great. Murphy an all time great.

barrie has never been good and has always been at best a relacemebt level player 5 on 5 that brings value on the PP. he’s not good.

Im not saying hes on their level but they all took unfair criticism. You can go deeper too. Schneider, Berard.

I agree on a lot of Leafs dman. Murphy, kaberle, McCabe, Rielly, Gards etc. Leafs fans are dumb when it comes to dman.

Barrieis deserves though. All the analytics guys warned us in the summer.
