And I thought there was no way they'd go after barrie. Turns out Dubas gets analytic tire fires too sometimes. They may just want to get anything they can for Barrie. The shatty deal would work if Barrie didn't play under a microscope in Toronto. The book is out on him though and it's probably dramatically worse than reality.

I'd just take a 1st rounder at this point. If they can get Stecher on top of the 1st, I'll take it. They don't have to keep him either.
 
Im not sold on that. There are still a lot of dumb GMs in this league that will overvalue Barrie especially if they think he can help boost offense for a run

Barrie at 2.5 million is good value even if he is a liability defensively

Historically Toronto crushes trade value for dmen because the media is dumb. I hope I'm wrong though.
 
Barrie's numbers are fine and just last year he was the clearcut #1 dman on everyone's favorite young upcoming elite team.

Now he's trash.

I don't care what the numbers say Zeke. you gotta focus on him coming out of a turn and thinking he is going to lose someone. Its actually, funny, iF you are not a Leaf fan.

I seriously don't care what the numbers are. I like him too, but the poor guy, cannot turn with the puck. In today's copy and paste NHL? A weakness like that exposed?

And the problem with having a guy with an ECHL like weakness, is it reverberates thoughout the whole team. Its like having a sergeant in the war, with no balls leading you.

Say what you want about Jake Gardiner, the guy had balls and he gave you pretty much all he had. No one on this board ever questioned his courage.

His intellenct? Yeah we fooled around. Barrie ain't stupid, the guy just has a Luke Schenn first step out of a turn, and he has fooled the ENTIRE NHL for years with it.

But this ole dog? Nope. Its a Luke Schenn turn.

God bless the guy, he still might get someone to spring for some big bucks for his molasses ass.

Wasn't fun man. It was up till that point. But not then, not then.

So in 2020 our Russ Courtnall is Kasperi Kapenen.

Not a five star player, but a heckuva player.

How do we approximate that trade?

Lucic?

Yeah Lucic for Kapanen would be pretty close to how awful that was.
