The 2019-2020 MotherFucking Season Thread

We ran Larry Murphy out of town, now mind you, he looked awful when he played here , he was really was a plodder, but I think we somehow would have fucked up with Lidstrom.

Lidstrom's wife btw? OMG. OMG. OMG.

How did the guy leave the house?

I have a girlfriend sorta, sorta in the same league right now. I don't leave the house, not very often.

Being with an over hot woman, is NOT an easy task lol. Its hard.

Every single dog out there, wants to take your spot.

The stats are fucked up when they say this guy is good.

Nope

Why, is Colorado not going for it this year? Clearly the stats aren't exactly telling the story here, and Sakic clearly saw this as an addition by subtraction situation.

Or...they already had his replacement (Makar) on a ELC and didn't see the point in keeping him around when they knew they weren't re signing him (already have EJ and Makar on the right), so decided to get some real value (a #2C) for him rather than wait around until the deadline and get the typical late 1st + B prospect for him.

The narrative you spin, where you know the thought processes of other people, just to avoid the obvious (Tyson Barrie is good at hockey) is kind of hilarious.

He's not good at hockey. The fact that you defend him like this is fascinating to me.

We were all excited at the time of the trade, but after watching him all season, the prevailing view of most observers that this union hasn't "worked out" isn't just some uninformed or biased view. If he was so good at hockey, there's no way Sakic just throws him into that deal and even retains. There's no way the rumor mill was churning that Dubas was looking to unload him but couldn't get a decent offer, if there wasn't some legit smoke behind it. When something is too good to be true, like it seemed it was at the time of the deal, we should've known better. And to pretend now like the guy isn't a disaster defensively, or is an elite player offensively, is silly. He's the same guy who couldn't buy a point for half a season, until they gave him the spot on PP1, probably just to showcase him.

I could care less about his plus minus.

And if you pay attention to how he gets his points, it's nothing fucking impressive. Just look to his points in the last game for examples.

17/18: 69pt pace (33es, 36pp)
18/19: 62pt pace (36es, 26pp)
Babs: 25pt pace (18es, 7pp)
Keefe: 61pt pace (42es, 19pp)

And if he's so good, it's kinda odd that Dubas would prioritize resigning older, slower, worse offensively, and worse defensively Muzzin, rather than lock this guy up. And if you think price was the factor (like that Barrie is in line to get $7.5M or so), I bet his eventual UFA deal will pull the air out of that argument.

I also don't know what "so good" means anymore if Barrie is so good, which clearly is what the numbers are telling you guys, and what you are arguing.

Like I said, he slots in on our team where krug and Shattenkirk slot in on BOS and TB.

I have no problem with those comps and probably pick Barrie out of the 3.

When a purely offensive dman kinda stinks up your superstar PP, there's something wrong.

He's probably the last guy I want quarterbacking the PP. I for sure take Rielly, Sandin, Dermott, and Muzzin over him in that role. The guy is literally good for nothing. Except being responsible for a gazillion dangerous plays in our D zone.

Your hatred of Barrie is blinding your objectivity. He's an adventure in his own end but definitely really good on the power play.

It's actually even strength where his offense shines.
