Uh, it's Jack Campbell not Patrick Roy in his prime.
Don't think it's much of a stretch tbh.
He's been in an elite top pair matchup role since his 2nd or 3rd season so we haven't had a chance to see how he'd look lower down the lineup....until just recently in the last half of this year, where we saw him paired with dermott and sandin lower in the lineup....
w/Reilly: 475:16, 50.0xgf% (-2.7rel) (elite matchup usage under babcock)
w/Dermott: 189:54, 57.6xgf% (+5.6rel)
w/Sandin: 81:42, 59.2xgf% (+8.3rel)
And this is how he's compared to some other RHD the last 2yrs:

We don’t need Patrick Roy in his prime. We just need better than Freddie “mediocre in the regular season and raging dumpster fire in the playoffs” Andersen.
I may not be a member of “Team eye test”, but just like when anyone tries to use nerd stats to argue that Marincin’s not horriawful, I’m going to have to say “**** the nerd stats” when they’re used to argue Ceci’s actually a useful NHL player.
Uh, it's Jack Campbell not Patrick Roy in his prime.
He let in a few stinkers for sure.
Its nice having an option to pull Fred in a game and knowing we can have someone come in and fill the void without being a complete dumpster fire
We havent had that option since Fred arrived
Yeah it takes aggressive zeke spinning to make the nerd stats on him look good.Nerds hate ceci tho.
Who says the Leafs need the greatest playoff goalie ever?Uh, it's Jack Campbell not Patrick Roy in his prime.
