Pretty sure Kapanen was the one that dragged down whatever line he played with in the corsi's. He was not very good all season. He also likely has way more value than Kerf due to his upside and penalty killing.
Also the youngest with the highest upside of the 3...
I think he might have the most trade value of them. But with out organizational chart I don't see how we can pay more than minimal money for a guy who isn't even a top-4 winger on the team.
No doubt though he could explode into a legit all around 1sr line winger in the right situation.
Our org chart gets a bit hard to project beyond next season though. What is engvall? are we paying hyman into his 30s? Is Robertson top 6 quality before he's 20? Does AJ turn into what we hoped he would or even something close? Especially if we are willing to move Willy around the top 6 (which appears to be possible), we might not be as deep at RW as we think.
Well take your pick of one of Hyman Kappy or Johnsson to keep, trade the other two.
For me, I'm sold on what Hyman brings, and think he'll sign a value contract.
Never liked his stuff -- always felt the need to mention his time with the Marlies, blah, blah. The funny thing about Bourne is that the farther away his employment with the Marlies gets in his rear view mirror, the less interesting he’s become, and the more he’s sounding like a regular media guy.
He’s also left the Athletic to become a full-time talking head on Sportsnet, so the transformation may be complete at this point.
I'm dangerously close to proclaiming the leafs to be a Hole-Free lineup, @Volcanologist.
