The Fantastically Beautiful Joyously Superfun 22-23 Season Celebration Thread

The Leafs are in second place in their division.

If they won the 4 games in OT instead of losing and giving away the 4 points, the conversation would be different.
It's frustrating that this is happening given the playoff history. Winning the Atlantic is so important. So 2nd place and face Tampa again? I think they can beat them this year, but Leafs are all about fucking themselves over in a lot of ways.

Why is winning the Atlantic so important when the Leafs have performed equally well/poorly against both elite and horseshit competition in the first round?

Frankly I could care less who their opponent is in the first round.

I know they lost to Habs and BJS, but I'll always take the shittier team in round 1. And last year not winning the Atlantic cost them dearly.
They are giving away so many points. Just frustrating.

I'm not going to live and die by every regular season game this year, seems like a giant waste of time.

Went in hoping at some point we'd see either goalie show us the ability to get on a roll and get hot for a good stretch. I'll be interested to see where we're at after the trade deadline heading into Round 1. Aside from that, I'll let other people take care of the hot November takes.

We know they'll be top 5 and at times frustrating. All that will matter is that 7 game series. You CANNOT go 0-7 in the playoffs with this group. And I say this as someone who believes the 'Winning rounds" has become commically overhyped.
If a team decides to start playing like Tampa did in games 6 and 7 last year, Leafs have to be able to respond and score.
