The Fantastically Beautiful Joyously Superfun 22-23 Season Celebration Thread

Seems a tad odd to me. They said minimum of two weeks a week ago... so he was never going to travel on this road trip.

I'm glad he's skating at least.

I'll say it - the blue line still looks OK. No legit top pair guys at the moment but that's still four top 4 guys, a fine vet bottom pair guy, and a number of good AHL dmen fighting for the last spot.

And now we get to see Ras-Lilly get real prime time big minutes duty which is something we all wanted to see anyways.

Wed @ NJD
Fri @ MIN
Sat @ PIT
Mon @ DET
Wed vs SJS

Hopefully Sammy can start next Wednesday and Murray can play 3 of 4 on the road trip but guess we'll be subjected to one more Kallgren start for the back to back.

Yeah, I'm actually not bummed other than I don't want our guys getting injured (having them out of the lineup, get cold, come back behind normal pace, reinjure, etc.). If anything, I'm interested to see how the rest of the D holds up. I also think Benn has been more than fine to be #6, and don't mind seeing Kral in action.

It's the fully healthy and garbage offense I'm worried about, ironically.

This obviously blows, but it really should put to rest any idea that the Leafs need to trade for a defender.

We're about to be down a pretty, pretty good top 3 and I don't think it will hurt us too much.

There aren't too many teams who have a bag of 22-24 yr old defenders with legit pro experience like Mete (250, most in the NHL), Kralberle (150 pro gms), Hoefenmeyer, Hollowell (100), Kokkonen (200+), Rindell (150)

Obviously not ideal that we're forced into using them, but that's good quality for your 9-10-11+ spots on the organizational depth chart.

All those #11 ranks are designed to fuck my pretty little chart right up.

Anyways, 20gms in - our 5v5 play has been good but not great both offensively and defensively, while both special teams have been very good.

The only true weakness so far has been our finishing at even strength, which has been piss poor.

The goaltending has been legit good, even with the 4th stringer playing half the games.
