The Fantastically Beautiful Joyously Superfun 22-23 Season Celebration Thread

Timmins is injured now - aren't there provisions to send him to the AHL for conditioning? Why would they have to waive him?

That said - welcome aboard Connor. Feeling like we are going to see a real changing of the guard on the blue-line shortly.

The rule is that an AHL conditioning stint can only last 14 days. After that, if you want to keep the player in the AHL, normal waiver rules apply.

And Timmins has actually been on an AHL conditioning stint since November 11th (where he played six games), so the time limit on that conditioning stint was about to run out.

There is also no circumstance in which a player would have to go through waivers in order to be called up from the AHL.
Hm. There used to be reentry waivers, but I see it got eliminated in 2013. Still some other situations where waivers are required for an incoming player, so here and there seeing those made me think a player who has to go through waivers needs to clear both on the way down and up. That's good to know that call ups don't require it.

That black and gold jersey is ugly. Def better with the raptor on it. Would be nice with a gold maple leaf.

Yeah, re-entry waivers got killed after the half-season lockout.

And yeah, there are also some circumstances where a player has to pass through waivers right after signing an NHL contract (like the goalie we signed last year).

But if you’re already signed to an NHL deal and in the AHL, no waivers under any circumstance in order to get called back up.

Thanks for the info.

Can't complain at all about this deal and got a good laugh that it's an ex soo. Timmins adds depth for bottom pair with middle pairing potential.

I know I've been on trading Sandin recently to get us something decent in return... and I've taken that back,

However, I have had enough of Holl, Kerfoot and Engvall no matter what nerdy numbers tell me otherwise. JEEBUS. they are painful.

Hopefully the new kid from Arizona plays with a "little more bite" cuz that seems like a perfect replacement for Holl. 6'2" 220 lbs. if he can use his size a little bit, it would be an improvement on what Holl brings. FFS.

Gotta put Muzzin on LTIR for the year and swing for the fences with Kane and Connor Murphy. Throw all those guys listed above plus a first rounder plus Muzzin's LTIR and you could probably get Kane with no money or very little money retained. Murphy makes 4 million so that would hurt but if some team could take a quarter of Kane's salary (ie Arizona) I think it would work.

Kane and Murphy no retention is 14.9 Mill
Kerfoot+ Holl+ Engvall+ Muzzin LTIR = 13.375

For a 3rd rounder you could get Arizona to eat 3 million off Kane (that's all) and then you throw Chicago next years first and a conditional first the next year if the leafs don't make the cup final. All square
