The Fantastically Beautiful Joyously Superfun 22-23 Season Celebration Thread

This annual joke about how they have nothing to talk about during the deadline got old about ten years ago. Maybe don't have a 19 hour deadline show if this happens every year.
Trade deadline coverage died the year elon invented Twitter

Dubas really fucked with his head
He's dooming about the Raptors too. I think the city of Toronto broke him. Could this quite literally be the first time in his life that he seems to be bearish and doomerish on all three major Toronto sports teams?

I think the frustrating bit for zeke is that they're right there. A couple of different moves and Kyle would build the exact team zeke wanted him to build. They did not have any restrictions on becoming a super elite best team in all of our lifetimes but they sorta botched it. Not to speak for zeke, but that's kind of how I feel in some ways assuming they're done here.

and I would definitely sympathize with that view point.

The positive is that even with the management fumblefuckery, it's still good enough to win the whole thing.

They definitely are.

Another pain point is repeating the same Boosh/Bogosian mistakes of years past. What about any of that showed that they need to try it again? Just doesn't make much sense. If they are truly done then I totally get the frustration. I don't think zeke is being unreasonable.

This team is going to live or die with the big 4. The parts around them aren’t that material they’ve gone skill (kappa, mango, etc), they’ve gone vet (jumbo, simmer, uncle spetzky) and they’ve gone plugs (Clifford and whoever) and the results have been the same.

this year they’ve added ROR who is awesome, and are looking at some high energy guys who hit everything to fill out the 4th line. Nothing else has worked. This is worth a shot.

Ya but tbay has literally won cups with the same schitt that we’re trying. These guys don’t matter.
Tbh I think they’re tying to find some guys who can amp up the team in hopes of avoiding the redux of sad Mitch and sad Austin ringing up xgf without any gf.

Sure but if you wanna go all-in on this idea, you should probably think of upgrading the chiefs of playoff failures on the team: Jarn and Kerf who have a combined 8 goals in 112 playoff games. And these are the guys they're going to NEED secondary scoring from in the playoffs. There's no one else outside their top 6.

Just seems like a lack of direction. They're moving away from playoff losers but then go and sign Jarnkrok and keep Kerfoot? It's messy.
