The Fantastically Beautiful Joyously Superfun 22-23 Season Celebration Thread

They definitely are.

Another pain point is repeating the same Boosh/Bogosian mistakes of years past. What about any of that showed that they need to try it again? Just doesn't make much sense. If they are truly done then I totally get the frustration. I don't think zeke is being unreasonable.

Bogo & Boosh were easily, easily our worst defenders in their respective series with us. So yeah, the failure in recognizing that and course correcting bugs me. In series that are decided by 1-2 goals, having a plug #6 defender go -3 and be meh on the PK can definitely be a deciding factor.

I get all the moves so far and love the ROR/Acciari trade. Just don't see why Dubas wouldn't bring in a middle-six winger. Seems so obvious. If cap is needed he can trade Kerfoot, if it's a pick(s) and a roster spot is needed, there's ZAR.

This team is going to live or die with the big 4. The parts around them aren’t that material they’ve gone skill (kappa, mango, etc), they’ve gone vet (jumbo, simmer, uncle spetzky) and they’ve gone plugs (Clifford and whoever) and the results have been the same.

this year they’ve added ROR who is awesome, and are looking at some high energy guys who hit everything to fill out the 4th line. Nothing else has worked. This is worth a shot.

I guess where I get lost on this point is that Matthews & Marner were the best players in the TBay series. Matthews and Tavares provided a bunch of offence in a close out game and none of it mattered because our depth wasn't just absent but was actually out there hurting the team taking stupid penalties.

The turning point moment of the Habs series was Galchenyuk's OT giveaway in game 5. The turning point moment in the Tbay series was the Kerfoot 5-3. I dislike but can live with these shitty depth players being passengers, but can you stop being fucking anchors? If we're going to live an die with the top 4, can we have the other 8 stop making their jobs harder?

He's going to say that his deadline acquisition is Knies. It wasn't a coincidence that all of those trades freed up just enough cash for Murray to be activated and Knies to be signed. They're pretty handcuffed and can't really afford to trade Kerf right now after losing their best bottom 6 forward already so unless they get a major major upgrade on him, I was always leaning on the "he stay" fence.

And then if they trade Holl then suddenly their right side on D looks iffy since they're afraid to play TImmins... You can trade Gus but you won't free up enough space to do anything interesting... Meh. There's just not much flexibility anymore. Keeping the cheaper, better bottom 6 guy and trading Kerf instead would have given them a lot more to play with. This is largely why I was so upset. But it is what it is.

It contradicts what he said about Knies likely not being a big impact straight out of school. He cant be your deadline upgrade while likely not being an impact player right away

Im all on giving him a shot but we likely dont see him until late March and its zero time to adjust

Still had two games to bury a much shittier team.

Sure, but those are the moments that often decide series. You let your opponent up off of the mat and bad things can happen. AG doesn't turn that puck over into a 2-0 breakaway, maybe those fucks actually bury the series winner and get the monkey off of their backs (which has since turned into a gorilla) and Leaf land looks a bit different over the last 24 months.
