The Fantastically Beautiful Joyously Superfun 22-23 Season Celebration Thread

The seed of doubt was firmly planted with that play. Oh fuck here we go again set in

that doubt should have been erased with a quick look at the Habs roster: "who the fuck are we playing again, are we gonna let Kotkaniemi beat us"

Had a chance to have arguably the deepest centre pool in the league with the additon of a second line winger but no we get to watch the rotating door of Jarnkrok and Kerfoot when ROR moves down

Lineup before his final flurry of trades:

Bunting-Matthews-Marner
Jarnkrok-Tavares-Nylander
Kerfoot-ROR-Lafferty
Engvall-Kampf-Acciari

McCabe-Brodie
Rielly-Liljegren
Giordano-Holl
Sandin-Timmins

Lineup after:

Bunting-Matthews-Marner
Jarnkrok-Tavares-Nylander
Kerfoot-ROR-Lafferty
ZAR-Kampf-Acciari

McCabe-Brodie
Rielly-Schenn
Giordano-Holl
Gustavsson-Liljegren

IN: Schenn, ZAR
OUT: Liljegren, Engvall

Still a phenomenal team that can compete with anyone but mistakes were made. Trade Kerf instead of Engvall and you've got a whole lot more money to play with today while keeping the better of the 2 players. They just couldn't afford to trade Kerf today.. They needed to add offence in the bottom 6 not subtract. And Schenn being a regular over Holl/Liljegren will obviously hurt just as much as Boosh and Bogosian did. And trading Raz for basically nothing was crazy. Why not wait till the summer if that's really the best you can do?

ROR and McCabe deals were good but the rest make no sense now

Should have kept Engvall and Sandin.

Yeah, I’m baffled by the Sandin & Engvall trades if, in fact, there isn’t another shoe to drop.

I don’t love either player but there’s no doubt we’re a worse team after dumping them.

I am disappoint and was wrong about Dubas doing something today.

He bluffed me by going all in early, so when he picked up a first rounder, I thought he would deploy it to add to his all in position.

I'll take the L and move on.

Kind of baffling that he completely overhauled the D.

And here we are after 4 or 5 years of patiently waiting for our two 1st round Swedish dmen to become solid contributors...and we dumped one for what used to be a high second rounder, and the other is going to by healthy scratch for Luke Schenn.
