Better question for the summer.
Why
Better question for the summer.
I have a "why not both" (a forward and a d) attitude but I'm also extremely anti rentals and pro saving currency to help extend their window, which is far wiser than going all-in on any given year. The Muzzin deal was always my favorite.
Need is a strong word. Especially up front. I'm pretty comfortable with how good this team is offensively if they play to their capabilities. And if they don't... Well no acquisition will be enough to help them.we need a difference making player though or it's really not worth it...and there's only cap room for one of those unless something unexpected happens.
I wouldn't be shocked if Dubas stood pat and took his chances actually. he believes this team is much better than it has shown, and expending major assets when you think that way seems unlikely.

Because firing all of the assets out the door for a LHD that we don't know if he can play on the right side, immediately before we attempt to make a real playoff run is a bad idea.
Firing that many assets out should answer your pre existing questions, not ask a bunch of new ones.
Top 3 in xgf/60 is pretty good. I'm not gonna knock them for some bad puck luck. If anything goaltending has covered up for their d which has not been quite at elite levels.how can you be? our best player is barely top 20 in scoring. the team is (for what and how they're spending) a disappointing 11th in GF.
Well I assume the scouts would know better than us.
They had better.
But you asked me why it's a better idea in the summer than now. That's why. If the idea is to convert Chychrun to the right side, you're a lot better starting that project in November than March.
