The Fucking Season Thread - Redemption Tour '22

Is that even the point though? Currently if enough guys hurt you're looking at Carl Dragonstrom and Alex Bagels.

Is insurance really a bad idea?

N2M, De Haan for whatever it's worth does have experience, Lilly is still a kid, be nice to have that option.

It's not like you're running the risk of Babcock falling in love with a gud pro stance anymore.

Can't carry 8 dmen. Everyone's 8/9 dmen are waiver fodder.

We have enough cap space to add one guy at the deadline who makes money. Why wouldn't we add a Luke Schenn making nothing instead of a De Haan making 4.5? If all we're doing is improving on our #8 defender, why are we using all of our available cap to make that happen? If we're just looking for veteran scrubs that are better than Biega/Dahlstrom. Staal, Kulak, Hagg, Greene, Lyubushkin, Braun, Sekera. All likely to be available for next to nothing at the deadline, all cheap on the cap. De Haan doesn't make our healthy top 6. What's the point of tying up all of our deadline cap just in case 2 defenders get hurt?

fine. Me dumb.

He's got such a caveman look to him as well. He's solid. If he can continue to develop the smart physicality and use his strength with more consistency, he can be a great piece moving forward.
Sandin excites me because of his skating... I like the comparison to Kaberle

I agree, I want to keep both. Trade Holl, Dermott, and prospects for a solid defenseman and other depth.

I think Sandin is a lot further away than I thought (a couple of years ago) to breaking through and being the impact defenceman I thought he’d be. Think there’s a better chance that Lilli ends up being the better of the two if they put the time to letting both their games develop with playing time and not just Sandin. Especially with him being RD and MR resigning long term.

When I watch Ras I think Matt Carle. Solid career and solid value at 29 so I'm not knocking it! Undersized, skating deficiencies, but smooth and smart.

Carle was a few years behind Sandin in development, but yeah, we could name a bunch of good but not great undersized guys for comps. I'm really interested to see what a good summer can do for adding a step to his footspeed.
