The Fucking Season Thread - Redemption Tour '22

Let's get Knies, Robertson, and Hirvonen to hurry up and get over so that maybe we can see what this looks like for a while:

Nylander Matthews Marner.

After all, what could go wrong with acquiring a former captain of the San Jose Sharks?

To be faiiiiiir

The problem wasn't in acquiring Marleau. He probably would have been a good deadline pickup right before we ended up signing him. The problem was signing him and his legendary leadership for 3 years at way too much money.

kinda nuts after seeing Corey Perry signed from the scrapheap and making the cup finals providing what Marleau was supposed to at a fraction of the cost.

I guess, in fairness to Patty, he was great his first season with us. and then dogshit after that.

My only issue with Giroux is that I'm pretty sure he's shit defensively; would prefer an all-around guy. But if he's half as good on the PP as he used to be I'm pretty confident they'll be fine there and slump-proof this year. Put him in the Marner spot.

All true.

And I’m not even anti-Pavelski, aside from just generally not wanting this team to spend big on another pure rental again.

Just had to point out the hilarious subplot that’d come along with Pavelski being added to this team.

I just got fake news'd. Dom tweeted it and I got excited but it turns out this dude is a troll.

FUCKING Presto

in many ways Pavelski is the perfect fit.

he's also done a ton of damage from the bumper spot on the PP I believe, and is one of the best in the league deflecting pucks.

NAME I keep hearing discussed: SCOTT MAYFIELD. Tree bitch type but good nerdies it seems like? And a coveted right handed D. And has one more year on his contract for cheap.

I can see Dubas doing these types of moves. Someone with an extra year and someone that you don't have to give up too much for.

I approve

I approve only if he's really really good. I have no idea if that's the case or not. I'm leaning towards "no" but if he's some undervalued gem according to the nerd gods it's something you have to pursue.
