The Fucking Season Thread - Redemption Tour '22

If he's truly comparable to Holl then he will have the same issue. Guys in that tier are rarely consistent and are a slight decline away from bottom pair or even AHL fodder. Aim higher!

GSVA Proj.: Holl 0.5 (3.9off/1.1def) ---- Mayfield 0.4 (-2.2off/0.3def)
GSVA Pace: Holl -0.4 (1.8off/0,3def) --- Mayfield -0.9 (-12.6off/-6.7def)

Evolving-Hockey 1yr: Holl 54 (37off/75def) --- Mayfield 25 (46off/60def)
Evolving-Hockey 3yr: Holl 63 (52off/66def) --- Mayfield 26 (17off/76def)

If anything, Holl faces tougher competition, as Mayfield has mostly played behind the top-usage pairing of Pelech-Pulock. Though this year with Pulock injured he's been the one filling in beside Pelech.

Both 2nd round picks that took ages to make the show - Mayfield did make it as a fulltime guy one year earlier than Holl did, but that's because Holl was getting jobbed by babcock.

How the D has looked in the 2gms without Muzz-Holl, where Sandin-Lilly have moved from sheltered bottom pair to full usage 2nd pair.

5v5

Rielly 18:51, 65.7xgf% ----- Brodie 21:09, 70.4xgf%
Sandin 16:19, 49.0xgf% --- Liljegren 16:30, 54.6xgf%
Dermott 11:33, 53.5xgf% -- Biega 12:21, 59.9xgf% / Dahlstrom 11:08, 62.7xgf%

First off, huge shout out to that top pairing - who just got a significant bump up in both ice time and quality of competition and still dominated.

Secondly ----- that is pretty darn solid for the Sandin-Lilly pairing in legit strong top-4 usage together for the first time.

Seems relevant to the original post regarding staying away from leader beans grit and focusing on bpa at the deadline

Foligno was the epitome of leader beans deadline moves and a new deal

Ritchie, Foligno, no difference. I doubt Leafs offered much more than the 2.5 they gave to Ritchie for Foligno. Prolly around 3, so they lost out and possibly drove up the price for Boston. I'll take it.

Both were horrible signings from day 1 of course. Didn't need hindsight for those.

Hey..what if Ho Sang has an amazing Olympics and really shines out there. He should be a strong candidate for a call up after the Olympics and if he plays well, would probably be a better injury call up than old Clifford. Also, what if Staal has a great Olympics and wins the gold with this crew. All it would take would be money to obtain him. This all depends of course if they play well.
Gotta take a look at the market deficiencies.

Elliot Friedman reported that they were going to sign Ho Sang to an nhl deal but heard he was getting Olympic consideration and that would’ve taken him out of it.
