The Fucking Season Thread - Redemption Tour '22

Presto, don’t think I don’t know what you’re doing with your perma doom, short selling that involves some dubious mental health claims….you’re just tossing the Leafs playoff chances irrationally into the toilet so you can buy the mother of all fucking dips

I was a buyer near all-time highs and a seller now. Perfectly normal behavior in any market.

That isn't the way LTIR works. $5 million in LTIR space would allow you to take on no more $5 million in additional AAV. Banked cap space and LTIR cap space are not the same thing.

At the same time that's over $10m if 50% retention, and over $20m with double retention, no?

so I would need to check to confirm but my suspicion is that Muzz has by far the highest opponent's QOC on the team and I believe the data zeke presented does not consider this.

at a minimum, the top-4 play much tougher minutes than the 3rd pair.

and regarding the snowballing, my eye test certainly has Muzz looking like he lost a step this year and he definitely started the year poorly but pretty sure zeke can post the numbers that show that he was turning things around in 2022.

Sorry I assumed you guys were aware of the competition because I repeat it so much.

The 3rd line gets hellish usage but imo that doesn't nearly justify 35-40% levels, and the usage was just as tough when Engvall was on there.

The 2nd line's mediocre numbers are even worse because they get the easiest usage.

Meanwhile the muzz pairings get the tough usage - meaning the xgf% is actually very impressive, but unfortunately the gf% is still unacceptable especially if you're not convinced it's just bad luck.

Meanwhile the rielly-brodie pair's just OK numbers aren't great because they don't get the toughest usage either.

The bottom pair is super sheltered so while it's nice the dominate it doesn't mean those guys should be our top pairings.

Remember this is even better than the kucherov situation because they were already using all his capspace from before the season so it didn't actually give them a lot of room at the deadline.

3rd line is easy to fix. Whichever line Engvall is on is good. So you slot him there and that's fixed. 2nd line needs a kerf upgrade. D is tricky because I'm not sure Rielly in the top 4 will ever give you great nerdies, especially defensively. Muzz pairing is idk. Confusing.
