The Fucking Season Thread - Redemption Tour '22

It's sorta odd you seem so bothered by praising Pridham?
It's a thing that I see people get upset about often from other fanbases. Sure sometimes the praise is over the top but there's enough of a track record there that shows how much he and others alike are lapping the field in a league that grossly struggles to get ahead of the times.

not bothered. enjoying a nice bowl of soup but truly baffled by some being awestruck by math gymnastics....but then again, most folks never bother to understand the powerful compounding damage of their 20% credit card interest rate. so never mind...carry on...

it still doesn't make it difficult for teams to hire a solid cap expert....how expensive can it be? that was my point when someone brought up, "keep the cap guy here at all costs"

I mean just this year he taught the league a nee trick of using the emergency goalie for one game to get a free roster spot for weeks, which a number of teams have now already copied.

Not the first trick he taught them.

that was indeed a good one...I was specifically talking about today's manoeuvre

Heh. We've had to listen year after year after year as people around the league screamed "cap hell!!", "they need to trade Nylander!!", "they'll never improve their D with their cap issues" etc. and now we're being gaslit that our cap guy isn't that impressive.

Can't really have it both ways.

My entire life up until the leafs hired dubas was watching a management group with CTE who didn't know their multiplication tables. And then I see the management group of 90% of the league and I see that nothing has changed. But the leafs have. It's refreshing to see and I think fans have a reason to applaud that.

touchy...touchy... gaslit is a bit strong

I dont see the issue in wanting to keep a guy who understands the CBA better than most being a bad thing

never said the opposite

you guys are obviously fighting a lifetime of shame (not to mention WeHave on a daily basis)...sincerely sorry for what you perceive to be as "piling on". Not my intention....but I do wish society was more mathematically literate

It's only valuable to teams that are against the cap - so maybe 50% of the league - but I'd bet if you could find a chart of "cap transactions", the Leafs would be at or near the top since Shanaplan/Dubas took over.

For me it's because I've seen folks mock leafs fans for praising pridham and of their entire management group he probably deserves the most praise. Maybe today's thing doesn't meet your standards but he's constantly pulling off tricks on a day to day basis not really seen elsewhere in the league. I don't think dubas or shanny or any of them are at the top of the league in their roles but I think Pridham is in his.

Has ch1 stopped his panic attack yet?

no...but my soup is done. (9.1/10) and you guys provided enough entertainment to boost it to 9.7

Hasta La Vista. enjoy Ben Chiarot when the time comes

Oh and BTW what prompted the comment today I believe was that pridham got the team to within $900.00 of the cap before the ltir.

$900.00 on a 81,500,000.00 cap. Pretty good.
