Muzzin doesn't concuss himself obviously. Just Marner.
It's a loophole that allows a team to ice a roster 20+ million dollars over the cap. That's ridiculous no matter how you slice it. No one has argued that it's against the rules! It's fun and exciting though it prolly sucks for other contenders without injuries to milk.I'm not debating if the Leafs invented it or not. I simply don't think it's cheating. Muzzin didn't concuss himself. Yeah, maybe they'll change the rule if the Leafs add 3 elite guys at the deadline....but if they add one stud, people will deal.
If anything, Kuch healing just in time for playoffs is a bigger violation.
The assumption that players are okay sitting out really just doesn't compute with me.It's a loophole that allows a team to ice a roster 20+ million dollars over the cap. And I think we all know that even if Muzzin is ready before the playoffs he's waiting for game 1 to play.
And again, I promise I'm not implying this is a Leafs thing! I guess you thought we were complimenting dubas over this specific loophole and got upset about it. But I promise this is not that, at least for me.
But it's not even about that. He can come back in the playoffs to a team with 20 million dollars of salary added to it. I don't get how that's not hilarious. The assumption that players are okay sitting out really just doesn't compute with me.
If I'm a player, I want to play in every single game. And even if I'm not that in love with the game or whatever, I don't want to go into the playoffs cold after a 30 game layoff.

He sorta did at one point. Called them cheaters on social media.Like, the whole Lupul thing back then confounded me.
If I were him, I'd have been talking to the media, telling them the Leafs were forcing me to sit out and fake being injured.
It's not cheating! It's a loophole that allows a particular team to ice a roster in the important playoffs that would not be allowed to be iced in the meaningless regular season. So all the work Team A does to remain cap compliant and have the perfect cap allocation goes by the wayside when Team B does the same but then gets a free 20 million dollars to add to the roster for the playoffs. That's a huge competitive advantage for Team B all because a dude got injured and they aren't gonna "rush" him back. That's funny to me!LOL. STFU. You should compliment Dubas. I do regularly. Why shouldn't you?
I don't think exploiting cap rules is cheating. You do. That's the argument. And the end of it, because I ain't trying to change your mind.
Now....points churning...that was cheating...and in violation of the terms and agreement brochure
PS. thank you for your points churning guidance. still reaping the benefits all these years later.
I wasn't making any comment about the rest of your post. Just that specific notion. But it's not even about that. He can come back in the playoffs to a team with 20 million dollars of salary added to it. I don't get how that's not hilarious.
You're both right. It's not cheating if the injury is real. It is cheating if they're faking it to get around the rules. It's not cheating! Np about the churning thing. I recently got back into it. It's fun AND easy.
It is funny how they all conveniently return for game 1 of the playoffs though. Talk about perfect timing on their recoveries! You're both right. It's not cheating if the injury is real. It is cheating if they're faking it to get around the rules.
There's definitely at least some bullshit, for sure. If you've missed 5 months, what's another two weeks, for instance. It is funny how they all conveniently return for game 1 of the playoffs though. Talk about perfect timing on their recoveries!
Truthfully we don't know about Muzzin though, you're right. He could be fine in a couple of weeks and they're just gonna tell him to hang back till the playoffs or he could be gone for the year.
Let's not forget.... Muzz is a pretty good player. I get that his injury have all of you salivating about adding three superstars but he's a key piece and might not be 100% come playoff time
