The Mother-fucking goddamn Off-season Thread

It is 1000% reasonable for an employer about to hand out a contract for millions to change his mind when the person 1. publicly expresses reservations about his ability to do the role and then 2. increases his ask.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills here.

People are getting so lost in the details.
But, but, Dubas was a good guy, a hard worker, and has a great family. You can’t just do that.

Next GM needs to implement a lock down on media contact and leaks and make it public.

This way the less intelligent fans catch on that they are extrapolating from extrapolations.

Man I thought the Habs media was bad. You win

By the way, hiring Matty’s agent? Another dumbass Dubas power move.

Have Shanny try to say no to Dubie contract demands to the guy who’ll be repping Matty on his deal in a couple of months.

Dubie “oops I did it again” more than Brittney does.
Different agents - same firm. I’m sure there was consent and a wall and all of that but it was a dumb shit move by Dubas given who else is repped by that firm.

If he wanted to keep negotiating and it was in good faith, he should have just said "Yes, I want to be here, and yes, I have it in me! My family is #1 and I will obviously need to talk to them, it's been a hard year on them"

Done.

Not this weird um, uh, can't really answer bullshit. Shanny was probably wondering where the fuck the "We can and we will" guy went.

I have no doubt everything Shanny said was true. Not even a sliver. The way he went through his timeline, the way he bluntly said he changed his mind at that point, it all tracks and is entirely believable.

If Dubie has "reasons" for why he went about things as he did, that's cool (and irrelevant to me), but it doesn't change the factual nature of the recounting of events from the Shanman.

I posted that idea that a sweep by Vegas could just end it with Nil especially with only the one year remaining.

Make a deal and move on from Nil Dallas.

Nil and his team have done so well with drafting and surrounding the team with talent.

If we are keeping the core four again, then I want the rest of the line up of tough fast SOB's that can pop in some goals.

I do want Perry FFS on our fourth line and so that in the playoffs he hurts someone, and gets the ugliest goal all while getting in the head of the goalie. He would have messed up Bob's flow.

Nil, Acciari, Perry, a younger faster 2C and a bigger and better Kerf... and then let the marlies play.. let that hunger back into the lineup.
